Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Roasted Bengal Gram Flour
  • ½ Cup Jaggery
  • 1 tbsp Dried Coconut Shredded
  • ½ tbsp Sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)

Instructions

  • Dry roast the coconut on low flame until aromatic. Make sure to keep stirring otherwise coconut may turn brown and get burnt.
  • In the same pan roast the sesame seed till aromatic.
  • In a large bowl, take the roasted Bengal gram flour and added the roasted ingredients to it and mix well.
  • Heat the jaggery with the clarified butter until the jaggery turns liquid and a one string consistency is obtained.
  • Mix the jaggery syrup to the mixture of flour and with the help of hands mold into desired shape. Make sure to do it quickly as upon cooling the mixture turns solid and can longer be molded.
  • Devour immediately or store in well closed container.

Notes

Instead of mixing all the flour with the jaggery at a time, it can be divided into batches. This will give sufficient time to work and mold the tambittu
